Wedding Receptions at Hamilton’s Heritage Sites

Due to the design parameters of Hamilton’s historical sites there are limits to what is possible and practical at each location. Adding a custom reception package to any of our ceremony packages is possible within these parameters.

Ancaster Town Hall

built in the 1870’s is our most practical site for couples wanting a ceremony and a full reception. The room we use to perform the wedding ceremony is also the room we use to have the reception. This means that guests will need to vacate the space for approximately 45 minutes while the room is being turned over.

There is space to feed up to ninety people seated, however, if you wish to have a dance floor, we recommend limiting your guest list to 75 or less. The hall has a modest kitchen, so we use a full-service caterer (La Piazza Allegra) to provide the food/dietary needs, bar service, dishes, glassware, utensils, linens, permits, liability insurance, etc. Menu packages range between $65.00 and $75.00 per person before alcohol. All events must be shutdown by midnight.

Fieldcote Park & Museum

Fieldcote is a cultural heritage center with an emphasis on the collection, preservation, and exhibition of local history, the promotion of fine arts and the celebration of natural heritage through beautiful landscaped gardens and walking trails.

There is an outdoor site for up to 100 people. Receptions are permitted in the daytime and evenings. Heritage Weddings will assist with coordinating tents, chairs, tables, dancefloor, generators, etc

A full-service caterer (La Piazza Allegra) will provide the buffet food/dietary needs, bar service, dishes, glassware, utensils, linens, permits, liability insurance, etc. Cost will range between $65.00 and $75.00 per person, before alcohol.

Dundurn Castle Coach House

built in the mid 1880’s can seat up to 70 guests for a dinner. Due to the historical nature of the building’s construction, dances are not permitted at this site. The room we use to perform the wedding ceremony is also the room we us to have the reception. This means that guests will need to go outside for pictures for approximately 45 minutes while the room is turned over. Evening events must finish by 11:00pm

The coach house does NOT have a kitchen, so we use a full-service caterer (La Piazza Allegra) to provide the food/dietary needs, bar service, dishes, glassware, utensils, linens, permits, liability insurance, etc. Menu packages range between $65.00 and $75.00 per person before alcohol. All events must be shutdown by midnight.

 Nash Jackson House/Battlefield Park

was the site of the Battle of Stoney Creek on June 6, 1813. Most of our ceremonies take place outside on the back porch. There is room for a small reception of no more than 70 guests inside the house. If you wish to hold a dance, we recommend no more than 50 guests.

There is a modest kitchen, so we use a full-service caterer (La Piazza Allegra) to provide the food/dietary needs, bar service, dishes, glassware, utensils, linens, permits, liability insurance, etc.Menu packages range between $65.00 and $75.00 per person before alcohol. All events must be shutdown by midnight.

Whitehern Garden and Stable

can be used for small indoor/outdoor receptions. The Stable can seat between 25 and 30 guests with approximately the same number outside on the patio. This is NOT a site that can accommodate a dance and there is no outdoor lighting for after dark. Bar drinks must remain in the stable and are not permitted in the garden area.

Note: If you wish to have alcohol served at your reception (any location above) there is a City of Hamilton surcharge of $565.00 added to your package price.
